This is a Raleigh Wyoming touring bike from the mid 1980s. It’s a steel-frame 12-speed with friction shifters. I bought it on Craigslist for $125, and put about $100 worth of restoration parts and accessories into it. I’m fairly new to bicycle maintenance so this has been my first real “project”. Last weekend I reaped the rewards of my hard work when I rode it 60 miles up the California coast from Pacific Beach to San Clemente.
Future plans are to get a brooks saddle and maybe some different handlebars because as you might imagine the ones on there start to hurt about about 25 miles or so.
If anybody knows what year this bike is from and the original price, I’d be very interested to know. Thanks!

I bought my Bianchi for $800 at a local bike shop. It looked brand new, but suffered from shifting complaints, which may have been why the someone traded it in. Luckily everything was fixed with a new cassette and chain. I’m really happy to finally have a fast, light bike for the first time in my life. Until then I’d been making do on entry-level bikes like the Giant OCR3 and Schwinn Fastback Sport. Here’s the bike right before a training ride. The ride is not as harsh as some aluminum frames, but the geometry makes it comfortable for long rides.

This is my ‘06 Easy Racers “BOBish” Tour Easy. It was built up from a framset by Rick Steele at Gold Country Cyclery in Shingle Springs, CA. The paint is custom British Racing Green. I hand picked most of the parts myself, with some assistance from Rick. It’s a perfectly comfortable, reliable, and confidence inspiring bike. Thanks to Michael Wolfe (owner of the original BOBish Tour Easy), and Grant Peterson (of Rivendell) for inspiration. You can see more photos here.

A recent acquisition from craigslist free section, all she needed was air in the tires.
So far we’re enjoying each other’s company.

And no, the gas meter is not part of the bike.
Just picture this polished like it should be.
Hardly a scratch on her, I think the poor thing spent most of her life in a basement somewhere.
See how the camera loves her so?
More of a tune-up than a resto job.
This frame was given to us by Ibex Bikes to do a project build up.

This was built for fun using some parts that I had collected.
