evan's Raleigh Wyoming touring bike
This is a Raleigh Wyoming touring bike from the mid 1980s. It’s a steel-frame 12-speed with friction shifters. I bought it on Craigslist for $125, and put about $100 worth of restoration parts and accessories into it. I’m fairly new to bicycle maintenance so this has been my first real “project”. Last weekend I reaped the rewards of my hard work when I rode it 60 miles up the California coast from Pacific Beach to San Clemente.
Future plans are to get a brooks saddle and maybe some different handlebars because as you might imagine the ones on there start to hurt about about 25 miles or so.
If anybody knows what year this bike is from and the original price, I’d be very interested to know. Thanks!

Ooooh, genuine “crotch stabber” shifters! That’s a darn sweet bike. I heartily recommend Nitto “Noodle” bars for long-distance comfort.
I’m going to guess 1983, based on this:

I had a Raleigh Wyoming when I was a teenager. 1983 would be my guess as well. I have to agree with Ghost Rider about the Nitto Noodle. I would recommend you get the widest bar possible.
I loved my Wyoming. It was my only means of transportation for my early teen years. Sturdy, reliable—even if the drivetrain was all Raleigh branded.
